যেভাবে জঙ্গি হলেন – ভারতের নামকরা এই পুলিশ অফিসার !!
ভারতের রাষ্ট্রপতি পদকজয়ী পুলিশ কর্মকর্তা দেবেন্দ্র সিংহ। জঙ্গি দলে যোগদানের দায়ে সম্প্রতি তাকে গ্রেফতার করা হয়েছে।গ্রেফতারের পর জম্মু কাশ্মীর পুলিশের সাসপেন্ডেড এই ডিএসপি এখন ভারতীয় সংবাদমাধ্যমে বহুলচর্চিত নাম।কিন্তু নামকরা একজন পুলিশ অফিসার কীভাবে জঙ্গি হলেন তা নিয়ে বিশদ একটি প্রতিবেদন প্রকাশ করেছেন কলকাতার প্রভাবশালী গণমাধ্যম আনন্দবাজার পত্রিকা।
ওই প্রতিবেদনে বলা হয়েছে, পুলওয়ামা জেলার ত্রালের বাসিন্দা দেবেন্দ্র শ্রীনগরের অমর সিংহ কলেজের সাবেক ছাত্র। ১৯৯৪ সালে তিনি জম্মু কাশ্মীর পুলিশে যোগ দেন এস আই পদে। পরে স্পেশাল অপারেশন গ্রুপ বা এসওজি-র গুরুত্বপূর্ণ সদস্য হন।গ্রেফতার হওয়ার আগে তিনি শ্রীনগর আন্তর্জাতিক বিমানবন্দর সংলগ্ন এলাকার ডেপুটি সুপারিনটেন্ডেন্ট ছিলেন।
দেবেন্দ্রর অতীত জীবন নিয়ে ওই প্রতিবেদনে বলা হয়, তোলাবাজি এবং দুর্নীতির অভিযোগে তাকে সাসপেন্ড করা হয়েছিল এসওজি থেকে। কিছুদিন সাসপেন্ডেড থাকার পরে তাকে পাঠানো হয় শ্রীনগর পুলিশ কন্ট্রোল রুম বা পিসিআর-এ।এরপর পদোন্নতিও হয়। ২০০৬ সালে তিনি পুলিশের ডেপুটি সুপার হন। তার আট বছর পর তিনি স্থানান্তরিত হন ট্রাফিক পুলিশে।

But Anand Bazar, a prominent media in Kolkata, has published a detailed report on how a reputed police officer became a militant.The report said that Devendra, a resident of Tral in Pulwama district, is a former student of Amar Singh College in Srinagar. He joined the Jammu and Kashmir Police in the post of SI. He later became an important member of the Special Operations Group or the SOG.
Prior to his arrest, he was deputy superintendent of the area adjacent to Srinagar International Airport.Devendra’s past life, according to the report, said he was suspended from the SOG on charges of violence and corruption. After being suspended for some time, he was sent to the Srinagar Police Control Room or PCR.
After that, he was promoted. At 28, he became Deputy Superintendent of Police. After eight years he was transferred to the traffic police.
Last year, Devendra was working in the Anti-Hijacking Unit of Srinagar Airport. He was supposed to be promoted within a few days. In that case he would have been promoted to the post of superintendent of police.
There has already been confusion over Devendra Singh’s medal. Jammu and Kashmir police have tweeted that Devendra has not been given any medal of courage from the Union Home Ministry. On the 28th Independence Day, he received a medal of courage as a police officer in Jammu and Kashmir.
Earlier, a complaint was heard against Devendra Singh in the face of Afzal Guru. Afzal, the main chakra of the parliamentary attack, was hanged in Tihar jail on February 7.
Devendra was mentioned in a letter written by Afzal in the 28th. There Afzal said that Devendra had talked to him about a man named Mohammed. Devendra had told Afzal Guru to deliver another accused to Muhammad or safely to Delhi in Parliament.

Devendra argued to detectives that he had increased intimacy with militants, saying that they would catch any of their leaders. But his claim did not go unnoticed. He was arrested on charges of violating protocol. The revolver was recovered from his house and an AK-4 rifle.
Detectives claim Devendra planned to send Hizbul militants from Kashmir to Pakistan. Or he was paid 12 lakhs for him! The militants have gone to different places in Debendra’s Jammu and Tral home.
IGP Kashmir Vijayakumar said that Devendra Singh had earlier participated in the Jangidman campaign. Then he committed hate crime. He is being interrogated. An investigation is underway on the Unleashed Activities Act and the Arms Act.
